Pedestrian Dead After 'Series Of Traffic Incidents' In South Barrington: Police

A rollover crash followed by two traffic incidents has left one dead.

SOUTH BARRINGTON, IL - A rollover crash and two other traffic incidents killed one pedestrian early Tuesday in South Barrington, according to media reports. The crash happened at about 1:15 a.m. when a van rolled over at New Sutton and Penny roads. A preliminary investigation shows two additional "traffic incidents" followed the rollover crash at the same location, the Daily Herald reports.

When authorities arrived, they found the pedestrian in need of medical attention and a person inside the van who needed to be extricated, according to the Daily Herald. Both were taken to an area hospital.

The Arlington Cardinal reports the pedestrian was suffering from cardiac arrest when emergency personnel arrived on scene. The second crash at the scene may have involved a DUI driver.

That driver, authorities said, would likely be charged, according to the Daily Herald.

The identities of those involved in the crash have not yet been released.
