Register for the CROP Hunger Walk

Funds raised will benefit hunger-fighting programs in the Barrington area.

The Barrington Area CROP Walk is an annual community-wide event sponsored by Church World Service.

The walk takes place on Sunday Oct. 16 at St. Anne Catholic Community, 120 Ela St. in Barrington. Registration begins at 12:30 p.m. and the walk starts at 1:00 p.m.

The CROP Hunger Walk helps support the overall ministry of Church World Service and is organized by local congregations or groups to raise funds to end hunger at home and around the world. The walk will return 25 percent of funds raised to the Northern Illinois Food Bank, the FISH Food Pantry-Carpentersville, BACOA Meals With Wheels, Wauconda-Island Lake Food Pantry, Project HOPE, the People in Need program of the Barrington Area Ministerial Association, and Barrington Giving Day, according to the Daily Herald.
