School Security Tightened In Area This Year

Visitors to Roslyn Road Elementary School in Barrington, and many other area schools, have to go through a tough security system before they can enter the building.

As students in Barrington get settled back into the school routine, officials are ensuring they are safe while they are there, the Chicago Tribune reports.
Visitors at Roslyn Road Elementary School in Barrington are screened through a video surveillance system, buzzers on the doors and a system that runs their driver's licenses through a sex offender database, the paper reports. The school is among many area schools that are increasing security in the wake of school tragedies.
