SWANCC to Host a Document Destruction and Electronics Recycling Event

The recycling event will be held on September 10 in Buffalo Grove.

On Saturday, September 10, the village of Buffalo Grove will host a combined recycling event at the parking lot behind Banner Plumbing, 151 Hastings, from 9 a.m. to noon, according to a Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County press release.

Residents from Buffalo Grove and other SWANCC communities are eligible to participate. However, materials will not be accepted from non-SWANCC residents, businesses, schools, institutions, and IDs will be checked for verification of residency. You can check to see if your town is one of the SWANCC communities here.

As residents drive up in their vehicles, workers will remove the paper documents and acceptable electronics. Residents are asked to stay in their cars. Acceptable documents can include medical forms, bank statements, personal files and retired tax forms. Residents are allowed to bring up to six file-size boxes or paper bags of paper documents and are asked to remove any plastic/metal clips or binders and NOT to put paper in plastic bags before dropping off, according to a news release.
