Village of Barrington Update About Coronavirus

"it's important for you to know that the Village of Barrington is in regular communication with our local and state health departments".

As the United States continues to monitor the outbreak of the coronavirus (COVID-19), it's important for you to know that the Village of Barrington is in regular communication with our local and state health departments, and they are monitoring the outbreak as it has spread in the United States. Current risk to Illinois residents remains low, but the state and Lake and Cook County Health Departments are taking steps to prepare.

We encourage all residents to use everyday preventive actions, including staying home when sick, covering coughs and sneezes, frequent handwashing, and routine cleaning of frequently touched surfaces and objects. It is also important to get the flu vaccine if you have not already done so.

The following sources will provide you with the most current information about the Coronavirus:

The Centers for Disease Control at www.cdc.gov

The Illinois Department of Public Health at http://www.dph.illinois.gov

The Lake County Health Department at www.lakecountyil.gov/coronavirus
The City of Chicago's Dedicated Coronavirus web site at www.chicago.gov/coronavirus.
We will continue to update our residents about this outbreak as information becomes available.
