Nobody hands families a map for what comes after high school. This free evening is that map. Transition Planning: Building a Path to Life After High School covers when transition planning has to begin, what the law entitles your student to, and what you are allowed to ask the IEP team for. Taught by Abbi Mars, Transition Facilitator at Family Matters PTIC, Illinois' Parent Training and Information Center. Hosted by Southern Illinois Pathways, a program of SIP Arts Foundation. Free, online, and open to families across all nine Metro East counties. No diagnosis and no income requirement. Parents, caregivers, teachers and case managers are all welcome, and students and young adults are encouraged to attend and speak for themselves. Register at sipaf.org/transition or call or text 618-823-2423. Need an accommodation? Tell us when you register and we will work it out.
