Police Ask for Public's Help in 2015 Morgan Park Murder Investigation
Area South detectives release images of "person of interest" wanted for questioning in murder of man found inside home that exploded.

Chicago Police have released images of a “person of interest” wanted for questioning in the homicide of a 48-year-old Morgan Park man who was found dead in his home after it exploded in September 2015.
Timothy D. Lawrence, 48, was discovered murdered in his home in the 10800 block of South Morgan Avenue, with a fatal gunshot wound to the head.

Neighbors reported hearing an explosion at the single-family home around 12:43 a.m. Sept. 14, 2015. Fire department crews arrived at the scene moments later.
Chicago bomb and arson investigators later determined the home was intentionally set on fire. Lawrence’s car, a black, 2004 Buick LeSabre was also apparently missing.

Neighbors told news media that Lawrence was a retired city streets and sanitation employee. He reportedly lived in the house for approximately eight years.
Now, police want to talk to this person captured on video standing on the front porch of Lawrence’s house before the crime occurred.
The Area South Detective Division is asking for the public’s help in identifying this person.
