Alleged Bridgeview Cell Phone Store Robber Nabbed by CPD
Riverdale man is believed responsible for a string of Boost Mobile store robberies in the Chicago area, including Bridgeview, cops say.

CHICAGO, IL -- A Riverdale man suspected in a string of cell phone store robberies on Chicago’s South Side -- including a robbery in Bridgeview -- was nabbed Friday afternoon by the Chicago Police Department’s Area South Gang Enforcement team in Riverdale, CPD News Affairs said. Christopher Taylor, 21, was identified through a business alert issued by Chicago Police on June 3.
Bridgeview police were in court earlier this week seeking an arrest warrant for the 21-year-old Taylor for the alleged robbery of a Boost Mobile store July 2 on Harlem Avenue. A Bridgeview detective told the judge that Taylor implied he had a weapon by asking a frightened store employee if she “ever had a gun pointed at your head.” He proceeded to empty a glass display case of cell phones. Taylor did not display a weapon, but the employee told police she thought she saw a flash of silver in Taylor’s backpack, the detective said.
Taylor is is charged with three counts of aggravated robbery, two counts of robbery and one count of robbery, all felonies. CPD gives his last known address as the 14000 block of South Atlantic Avenue in Riverdale. He is scheduled to appear Saturday afternoon in bond court at the Leighton Criminal Courts Building at 26th and California.
