Community members have rallied around his family with a large fundraising effort and a vigil at Buffalo Grove High School, as officials praise his courage and lifelong commitment to student safety.
• Returner and Two-Way Player Added to River Dragons Roster (riverbender.com) — Buffalo Grove’s own Griffin Kelly, a standout business management major and former MSL East Player of the Year, has joined the Alton River Dragons as a two-way player for the 2026 season. He’s currently excelling at Harper College, hitting .400 with strong pitching stats, and will help anchor a roster that opens play in late May with games broadcast on 107.1 FM WBGZ.
