Car Search Finds Crack, Empty Whiskey Bottle: Buffalo Grove PD Blotter

An 18-year-old Arlington Heights resident was charged with a number of crimes during Tuesday night arrest.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED

  • Melanie L. Woodworth, 63, of the 7300 block of Beckwith Road, Morton Grove, is accused of driving on a suspended license, improper traffic lane usage, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and was arrested at 5:29 p.m. Oct. 2, following a traffic crash at Buffalo Grove Road and Church. She was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 18.
  • Carmen Madrigal, 27, of the 1100 block of Stratford Court, Island Lake, is accused of driving on a suspended license, operating a motor vehicle with a suspended registration, operating a motor vehicle with an expired registration, and was arrested at 4:22 p.m. Oct. 4, at W. Lake Cook and Weidner roads. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 18.

NO DRIVER'S LICENSE

Carlos Contreras Godinez, 26, of the 2700 block of N. Parkside Avenue, Chicago, is accused of driving without a license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to yield, and was arrested at 3:31 p.m. Oct. 3, following a car accident in the 0-10 block of Bank Lane. He was released and assigned a court date of Oct. 18.

POSSESSION OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE

Damian A. Bauer, 18, of the 200 block of S. Forrest Avenue, Arlington Heights, is accused of possession of a controlled substance, having a fraudulent driver's license, illegal transportation of alcohol by a driver, operating an uninsured vehicle, and was arrested at 4:31 p.m. Oct. 8, at S. Buffalo Grove and Weiland roads. A court date of Oct. 9 was assigned. During a traffic stop, police reportedly found an open empty bottle of whiskey on the front passenger's side floorboard. Police then searched the rest of the car, finding a small plastic container with several white pieces of a hard rocklike substance, suspected to be crack cocaine, according to police.

INCIDENTS

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY

  • A resident in the 200 block of Blossom Court reported at 4 p.m. Oct. 2, that earlier in the day she had noticed a bag of garbage in front of her car, but nothing had happened to the car. At around 4 p.m., she noticed garbage in the handles of the vehicle and on the windshield. Police found a small triangular scratch on the driver's side of the car, right of the door handle.
  • A resident in the 800 block of Marseilles Circle called police at 9:45 a.m. Oct. 6, to report someone had damaged her window screens. She said she was woken up at 1:45 a.m. by someone banging on her rear sliding door. She described them as a white male, between 60 and 70 years old. She later found four exterior window screens were damaged.

BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE

A resident in the 2300 block of Birchwood Court reported at 9:57 a.m. Oct. 6, someone had entered two cars. The resident had camera footage of the incident, which showed a black SUV with an unknown license plate enter the cul-de-sac. The footage then shows three to four people enter multiple cars in the area. The resident was missing a front license plate.

CRIMINAL TRESPASS TO VEHICLES

A resident in the 100 block of E. Fox Hill Drive called police at 10:33 a.m. Oct. 6, to report someone had entered their cars parked in the driveway overnight. The cars had been ransacked and several doors had been left open.
