Graffiti Found At School Playground: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter
The incident at Prairie Elementary School occurred during the overnight hours, according to police.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED

- Adrian Suarez-Guzman, 39, of the 2300 block of Nichols Road, Arlington Heights, is accused of driving on a suspended license, and had a warrant out of DuPage County for bond forfeiture, and was arrested at 12:19 a.m. Aug. 20, at Lake Cook and Buffalo Grove roads. He was also cited for tinted windows. Suarez-Guzman was released after posting a $2,500 bond and was given a court date of Oct. 4.
- Luis A. Camacho, 29, of the 1400 block of E. Whispering Spring, Palatine, is accused of driving on a revoked driver's license, and was arrested at 11:50 p.m. Aug. 20, in the 80 block of W. Dundee Road. He was released after posting a $2,500 bond.
DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE
- Juan A. Zermeno Cervantes, 23, of the 200 block of E. Liberty Street, Wauconda, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, illegal transportation of liquor, driving 21-25 mph over the speed limit (57 mph in a 35 mph zone), and was arrested at 4:45 a.m. Aug. 21, at Dundee Road, near Vernon Lane. He was released after posting a $2,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Sept. 6.
- Lauren N. Papi, 29, of the 1900 block of Redwood Avenue, Hanover Park, is accused of driving under the influence of alcohol, and was arrested at 2:36 a.m. Aug. 22, at Arlington Heights and Nichols roads. She was released on a $3,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Sept. 7.

INCIDENTS
RETAIL THEFT
- A store manager at Ace Hardware, 700 block of S. Buffalo Grove Road, reported at on Aug. 17, a male with an army-style gray backpack grabbed three Lithium-ion batteries and walked out the backdoor without paying at around 12:58 p.m. He was described as wearing a black sweater, blue jeans and black shoes. He also had a shaved head and a "five o'clock shadow," according to the manager. Another employee, who got a better view of the suspect, told police he was between 5-foot-10 and 6-foot, 160-180 pounds, and in his mid-twenties. The missing batteries are $239.99 each, totaling $719.97.
- A manager at Rogan's Shoe Store, 1300 block of W. Dundee Road, called police at 4:25 p.m. Aug. 18, with a delayed retail theft report. She said she located at ripped-off price tag and an old pair of flip-flops stuffed between shelves. Missing were the exact make and model of the old flip-flops left behind, valued at $35. Surveillance video shows an "older" woman wearing a gray shirt with black yoga pants, carrying a brown leather purse and wearing black flip-flops.
THEFT
- A Dogwood Terrace resident reported at 10:34 a.m. Aug. 17, that UPS had indicated delivery of a computer monitor to their home, but there was no package when they returned home. The value of the monitor is $276.24.
- An employee of Schultes Precision Manufacturing, 1200 block of E. Busch Parkway, called police at 1:51 p.m. Aug. 18, to report a male came into the shipping and receiving dock area the prior night and took out equipment worth around $13,200. The man had pulled up into the area in a black Ford F150 without a front registration.
BURGLARY TO MOTOR VEHICLE
A Glendale Road resident reported at 7:59 p.m. Aug. 18, that gasoline may have been siphoned from their vehicle once or twice in the last week. They realized it when they had to fill up the car for the second time in a week and they hadn't driven enough for that to be necessary. They noticed scratches on the car when filling it up.
VANDALISM
An employee of Kildeer Community Consolidated School District 96 called police to report vandalism at Prairie Elementary School, 1500 block of Brandywyn Lane. The employee said that during the overnight hours of Aug. 17, someone graffitied the playground equipment. The playground equipment is on the north side of the building.
