Man Steals 12 Liquor Bottles At Store: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter
The total value of the liquor was more than $500, according to the store manager at Woodman's Food Market.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.
Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

Anthony Thomas Palamara, 21, of the 0-10 block of Falkirk Road, Hawthorn Woods, is accused of driving on a suspended license, obstructing a police officer, and was arrested at 11:05 p.m. Aug. 13, in the 900 block of W. Lake Cook Road. During a traffic stop, police said they witnessed the driver and passenger of the car switch seats. Police soon discovered Palamara had the suspended license and two warrants. The first warrant was for bond forfeiture out of Northbrook, with the second out of McHenry County for fleeing and eluding. He was released after posting bond and taken to the Northbrook Police Department. A court date of Aug. 31 was assigned.

INCIDENTS
SOLICITOR
A Caren Drive resident reported at 7:23 p.m. Aug. 11, a "suspicious" solicitor had recently been to his home. The man — wearing a blue shirt, baseball cap and a tool belt — came to the door and said they were finishing up their appointment. The resident said the man never mentioned what company he was with and began saying he worked in pest control. The resident said the man had no vehicle and there was no one else in the area, so he felt it was suspicious. Police spoke to neighbors, who said they also encountered a man fitting the description.
THEFT
A Lakeview Drive resident called police at 1:22 p.m. Aug. 13, to report he spoke with a man impersonating an ComEd employee. The resident said he was told he owed $300 in past due charges and was advised his electric service would be disconnected if it wasn't paid immediately. The resident said he followed directions to bring his account current and transferred $300 to his Zelle account. Once the transaction was complete, he was told by the person he was scammed.
RETAIL THEFT
The manager at Woodman's Grocery called police on Aug. 14 for a delayed theft report. The manager said that at 4:45 p.m., a male stole 12 bottles of alcohol from the liquor department. The manager said the person loaded a shopping cart with the alcohol and placed them in a black garbage bag in the middle of the cart. The stolen items were: two bottles of Belvedere vodka ($49.99 each), four bottles of Avion Silver Tequila ($38.99 each), four bottles of Adictivo Anejo ($36.94 each) and two bottles of Avion Reposado ($39.99 each) totaling $563.68. The man was seen walking past the last point of sale.
SUSPICIOUS PERSON
A resident in the 0-10 block of Crown Point Drive reported that at 2 p.m. Aug. 16, a man between the ages of 30-40 approached him in his driveway. He said the man was soliciting dent repair for his 2007 Honda Accord. The resident said the man was driving a gold Cadillac CTS. He told the man he did not want to hire him, and then the man left in an unknown direction.
SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT
A resident of Carriage Way Drive reported at 3:31 a.m. Aug. 17, he had called Northwest Central Dispatch System because his alarm was going off. He then looked outside and saw one of his pool panels was cut. He did not hear or see anyone in his backyard. The resident said he had spoken to his neighbor, who said that at around 3 a.m., he heard the water draining out of the pool. Police were unable to determine how the pool panel and liner were torn. Police said there was nothing of evidentiary value to collect.
