Man Asks To Enter Home For Backyard Dig: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

The man told the resident he could help with flooding problems by digging a hole in the backyard, but needed to enter her home first.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

Rickey Grigler, 37, of 600 block of E. 71st Street, Chicago, had a warrant out of DuPage County for bond forfeiture, and was arrested at 2:18 a.m. Sept. 14, in the 1400 block of Lake Cook Road, Wheeling. He was released after posting a $3,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Oct. 19.

SUSPENDED/REVOKED DRIVER'S LICENSE

  • A 26-year-old Buffalo Grove woman is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 12:34 a.m. Sept. 15, in the 1500 block of E. Deerfield Parkway. She was also cited for no insurance and no front license plate. The woman was released after posting bond and were assigned a court date of Oct. 21.
  • A 21-year-old Rolling Meadows man is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 2:55 a.m. Sept. 15, at West Cook Road and N. Ridge Avenue. He was released on bond and assigned a court date of Oct. 21.
  • A 43-year-old Palatine woman is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 1:25 a.m. Sept. 16, at W. Dundee Road and Ridge Avenue. She was released on bond and assigned a court date of Oct. 21.
  • A 25-year-0ld Chicago man is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 1 a.m. Sept. 20, in the 1500 block of E. Deerfield Parkway. He was also cited for having a non-working headlight. He was released after posting bond and was assigned a court date of Oct. 21.

DRIVING UNDER THE INFLUENCE

  • Sergei Rymar, 50, of the 1200 block of S. Sarah, Vernon Hills, is accused of aggravated driving under the influence (violation for the third or subsequent time), aggravated driving under the influence, driving on a revoked license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, driving 21-25 mph over the speed limit (60 mph in a 35 mph zone), and was arrested at 2:01 a.m. Sept. 17, at Arlington Heights Road and Whitehall Drive. A court date of Nov. 3 was assigned.
  • Zorigt Batsukh, 46, of the 190 block of Sycamore Drive, Hawthorn Woods, is accused of improper lane usage, driving under the influence of alcohol, driving under the influence of alcohol with a blood alcohol concentration level of .08 or more, and was arrested at 11:52 p.m. Sept. 16, at McHenry Road and Lucinda Drive. He was released after posting bond and was assigned a court date of Oct. 12.

SUSPICIOUS INCIDENT

A Downing Road resident called police at 3:25 p.m. Sept. 18, to report a suspicious man was pressuring her to let him into her home. The man got into a gray sedan and drove westbound on Downing Road toward Buffalo Grove Road. The resident said the man, who was wearing a white baseball hat, green/yellow facemask, jeans and a beige shirt, was asking to look at her backyard. He told her he could help her with flooding problems by digging a hole in her backyard. The resident said the man insisted on walking through her home to the backyard. When she refused, he got into his car with two other people inside and drove off.
