Buffalo Grove Police Issue 43 Seat Belt Citations During Labor Day Campaign (patch.com) — Buffalo Grove drivers saw stepped-up enforcement over Labor Day, with local police issuing 43 seat belt citations, including 11 at night, plus 31 other traffic tickets. The department joined statewide impaired-driving and seat belt campaigns, funded through federal highway safety grants, to emphasize that driving drunk or high in and around Buffalo Grove carries serious consequences.

Business Burglary, Stolen Checks: Buffalo Grove Police Blotter (patch.com) — Recent Buffalo Grove police reports detail a business burglary, spoiled food after equipment tampering, a stolen motorized bicycle, and arrests involving alleged forgery with stolen checks and DUI. Incidents occurred at familiar local spots on McHenry Road, Dundee Road, and near Milwaukee Avenue and Deerfield Parkway, with court dates set in Rolling Meadows and Waukegan.
   

3. $90K Gift To Fund Accessible Buffalo Grove Park Project In Memory Of Local Man (patch.com) — Buffalo Grove's park system is set to gain a new accessible amenity thanks to a $90,000 gift honoring resident Maxie Randell, a pioneer in Canavan disease research. The Park District is seeking another $10,000 so it can choose and expand a project that best improves park access for residents with disabilities and rare diseases.
   

4. Catching Up With Some Girls Fall Sports (journal-topics.com) — Buffalo Grove athletes had a busy week, with girls volleyball, tennis, golf, and swimming all in action against familiar area rivals. From a tight volleyball loss to Stevenson to strong tennis wins and a solid showing at the Waukegan golf invite, local players and teams are competing at a high level. The Buffalo Grove Open Invite in swimming also spotlighted several emerging Bison standouts.
