Woman Steals Charging Phone At Dunkin': Buffalo Grove Police Blotter

A customer said the woman was the only one in the store at the time and had been circling the phone prior to stealing it.

BUFFALO GROVE, IL — The following information comes from the Buffalo Grove Police Department (except when noted) and court records as a record of incidents reported to police and those arrested on criminal charges, which represent accusations by the state that are often dropped or reduced.

Updated information may be available from the Lake County Clerk of the Circuit Court. Everyone arrested is presumed to be innocent unless found guilty in court beyond a reasonable doubt.

ARRESTS

DRIVING WHILE LICENSE SUSPENDED/REVOKED

A 53-year-old Schaumburg man is accused of driving on a suspended license, and was arrested at 10:26 p.m. Nov. 11, in the 100 block of College Drive. He was released after posting a $3,000 bond and was assigned a court date of Dec. 16.

INCIDENTS

DISOBEYING TRAFFIC SIGNAL

Police saw a person riding a dirt bike at a high rate of speed at 9:51 p.m. Nov. 9, at W. Dundee and N. Arlington Heights roads. The driver did not pull over when police initiated a traffic stop. Police did not pursue the dirt bike.

CRIMINAL DAMAGE TO PROPERTY
A Countryside Drive resident called police at 9:02 a.m. Nov. 11, to report someone had damaged their mailbox by unknown means. The post was intact, but leaning and cracked, while the box was slightly detached.

THEFT
A customer at Dunkin' Donuts, 1100 block of N. McHenry Road, reported at 2:46 p.m. Nov. 13, that a woman stole her phone from the wireless charging station. The woman was described as white, mid 30s, with brown hair, turquoise t-shirt, ripped blue jeans and black sneakers. The customer said the woman was the only one in the store at the time and had been circling the phone prior to stealing it.

FRAUD

A Mayfair Lane resident reported at 5:30 p.m. Nov. 15, they paid $950 for an iPhone 14 Max Pro through Facebook Marketplace that ended up being an Apple product counterfeit. They said the communicated with the seller through Facebook Messenger. The sales transaction took place in the parking lot of Chase Bank, 800 block of E. Buffalo Grove, one hour prior.
