• More than $1 million in federal funds secured for Will County Lake Michigan water project (shawlocal.com) — Channahon is one of six Will County communities set to receive Lake Michigan water through a massive new regional system now under construction, backed by more than $1 million in newly secured federal funds. The Grand Prairie Water Commission's $1.5 billion project will replace stressed groundwater supplies and is expected to deliver a sustainable, higher-quality water source to Channahon homes and businesses by 2030.
   

• Flotsam River Circus In Henry, Tuesday, Sept. 9, 6 p.m. Main Street Boat Ramp At Waterworks Park (henrynews-republican.com) — A floating circus of musicians, puppeteers, and acrobats will bring a free, family-friendly show to Four Rivers Environmental Education Center in Channahon on Sept. 14 at 6 p.m. Traveling the Illinois River from St. Louis to Chicago, the Flotsam River Circus invites locals to bring chairs or blankets, enjoy live music and circus acts from shore, and support the nonprofit with optional donations.
   

• Rep. Bunting's Springfield news update for August 21 (thepaper1901.com) — State Rep. Bunting's update includes a note that Route 6 will be repaved between Morris and Channahon, a project Channahon drivers should watch for. The newsletter also covers new farm-vehicle weight limits, flood damage surveys in Ford County, and IDOT's search for seasonal snowplow drivers.
