'Am I Dreaming?': Fans Can't Believe the Cubs Are in the World Series Even After the 1st Pitch

After all the hype, all the media coverage and all the bandwagon jumpers, true Cubs fans still couldn't believe this was really happening Tuesday night.

But after Indians' starting pitcher Corey Kluber threw the first pitch at Progressive Field in Cleveland, and Chicago's lefty starter struck out his first batter, the reality had sunk in for those long-suffering fans: Their Cubbies had finally made it to the World Series.

Sentiments like that from true Cubs supporters — and not the fair-weather fans — even earned some online respect from people who didn't have a discernible rooting interest in the game.
