2 Groundhogs, 2 Different Views: Willie, Phil Disagree
Woodstock Willie thinks we have six more weeks of winter, while Punxsutawney Phil predicted an early spring.

WOODSTOCK, IL — Two well-known groundhogs had differing views this past weekend on how long this winter is going to last. In Woodstock on Groundhog Day, Woodstock Willie poked his head out from his tree trunk perch and spotted his shadow.
The observation means the groundhog thinks we will have six more weeks of winter. The prediction came on a day when temps rose into the 50s for the Chicago area.
Meanwhile, in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania, the famed Punxsutawney Phil saw things differently.

"For there is no shadow of me, spring will be early, it's a certainty," an announcer in Punxsutawney announced to thousands waiting to hear Phil's prediction.
Woodstock Willie made his prediction for a longer winter during Woodstock's annual Groundhog Days festival. The festival highlights Illinois locations used during the filming of the 1993 Bill Murray movie "Groundhog Day."
