Crystal Lake Cops Join U.S. Marines In Toys For Tots Drive

Last year alone, the program collected and distributed 18 million toys to 7 million kids.

CRYSTAL LAKE, IL — Crystal Lake cops are joining forces with the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve in collecting toys for kids that are less fortunate in the annual Toys for Tots drive.

Since its inception, Toys for Tots has donated 313 million toys to 151 million kids, the Northwest Herald reported. "Alarmingly, approximately 13 million America children live in poverty. Studies reveal that growing up in poverty can have an adverse psychological impact on a child," the Toys for Tots website says.

Toys for Tots collected and distributed 18 million toys to 7 million less fortunate kids last year, according to their website.
