Crystal Lake Police Search for Masked Robbers Who Held Up GameStop

The armed robbery occurred on Dec. 28.

The Crystal Lake Police Department is continuing to look for two suspects accused of robbing the GameStop on Route 31 at gunpoint last week.

At 9:09 p.m. on Dec. 28, the two suspects entered the store at 1125 South Route 31 in Crystal Lake, displayed handguns and demanded cash from employees at the GameStop, according to Crystal Lake police.

The suspects fled the scene on foot, with an undetermined amount of cash and two electronic game consoles. They were last seen running south from the scene, according to the news release.

Both suspects were wearing black ski masks, dark colored clothing and gloves, according to police.

The male suspect was about 5-feet 11-inches tall and an average build. The female suspect was about 5-feet 6-inches tall with a large build.

As of Tuesday afternoon, Crystal Lake police were still “looking for leads in this case,” Thomas Kotlowski, deputy police chief for the Crystal Lake Police Department, said in an e-mail response.

This case remains an active investigation.
