The fall festival will bring entertainment, family-friendly events and a variety of craft beers and wine to downtown Cary on Sept. 27 and 28

Submitted by the Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce

The Cary Grove Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce the inaugural Cary Main Street Fest in downtown Cary on September 27 and 28. The outdoor fall festival will feature local restaurants and businesses, a marketplace of vendors and artists, live entertainment and a children’s area to celebrate all that Cary has to offer. The multi-faceted event serves up something for everyone:

  • a variety of craft beers and wines to complement the flavors of spice, apple and pumpkin that will augment the menus of participating eateries
  • a fine arts component to showcase the talents of local artists, featuring live art creation and interactive displays
  • a dynamic lineup of lively entertainment on the main stage, while the family stage highlights theater, dance and other interactive children’s programming. (Band submissions will be accepted at info@bigbuzzideagroup.com until July 31)

“We’re really excited about the launch of this event,” said Brad Ball, Executive Director at the chamber. “The opportunity to bring people out for a weekend of camaraderie and community celebration is a great way to make people feel good about where they live.”

Cary Main Street Fest has already garnered praise and substantial support from the Village of Cary. The village board approved a $20,000 contribution to the event at the July 1 board meeting. The chamber is seeking additional sponsor partnerships to underwrite the event.

The chamber hired Melissa Lagowski and Big Buzz Idea Group, a Chicago-based event planning firm, to produce the event. “Cary has a unique charm, and autumn is a special time: comfortable temperatures and the onset of fall colors at harvest,” comments Melissa. “We’re looking forward to the festival and hope to entice residents and neighboring communities to experience the best that Cary has to offer!”

While the event will be a fundraiser for the Cary Grove Chamber, giving back to the community is another event goal. A volunteer grant program will direct funds to local nonprofits that will assist in filling nearly 200 volunteer shifts required to operate the event. A $5.00 gate donation will be requested from guests who enter the event. Revenue from donations, along with sponsorship and beverage sales, will all help support the volunteer grant program.
