Drug Dealer Sentenced In Heroin Bust
Paul Benzinger, 30, of Crystal Lake has been sentenced to 4.5 years in prison.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL -- A drug dealer has been sentenced to 4.5 years in prison after local authorities busted him with 36 bags of heroin during a traffic stop in McHenry County last May, prosecutors said. Paul Benzinger, 30, of Crystal Lake, entered the guilty plea to a charge of possession of heroin with the intent to deliver (1 to 15 grams), which is a Class 1 felony, according to a news release from the McHenry County State's Attorney's Office.
Detectives pulled Benzinger over on May 1, 2017, after receiving numerous complaints from concerned citizens that Benzinger, who was out on parole for previous heroin related convictions, was selling again, police said.
During the traffic stop, authorities found 36 bags containing 3.6 grams of heroin, according to a news release.
