Cloudy skies are in the forecast for the start of the day but the sun is expected to break through later on. A high in the lower 60s is in the forecast and wind gust as high as 25 mph are also possible. More rain showers are possible early Wednesday with a low of 46 degrees expected overnight.

Flood warnings for portions of the Fox River in northern Illinois, according to the National Weather Service. Moderate flooding is currently occurring and is expected to continue along stretches from Johnsburg downstream through areas including Algonquin and St. Charles.

River levels were reported at 11.6 feet Monday evening and have been slowly receding in recent days. Officials warn that several low-lying neighborhoods, roads, and river trails remain threatened by high water, according to the National Weather Service.

At flood stage, which is 9.5 feet, multiple residential streets and public areas in communities like Algonquin, Elgin and East Dundee are at risk of impact. The forecast indicates a gradual decline in water levels, but the warning remains in effect until further notice.
