McHenry County Thanksgiving Holiday Saw 106 Arrests, Citations
McHenry County sheriff's deputies issued 94 citations and made 12 arrests over the Thanksgiving holiday.
MCHENRY COUNTY, IL — The McHenry County Sheriff's Office released the results of its "Click it or Ticket" enforcement over the Thanksgiving holiday. Officers and deputies were out in force over the holiday enforcing seat belt and DUI laws.
Overall, the Sheriff's Office made 12 arrests and issued 94 citations, according to a press release. The arrests included four DUIs and five drug-related arrests. Among the citations were 37 speeding tickets and 28 seat belt citations.
The mobilization was made possible by federal traffic safety funds via the Illinois Department of Transportation as a part of the nationwide "Click it or Ticket" and "Driver Sober or Get Pulled Over" campaigns, according to the press release.
