One Last Summer Adventure: Kids Run This Town Returns

Before backpacks come out and school begins, local grade school students have one more chance to make the most of summer with Kids Run This Town.

This month-long program is perfect for kids who love to run, or are just curious about trying it for the first time.

Participants will meet twice with Coach Megan of Sloan Coaching, who will share helpful running tips and training advice. Then the real adventure begins. Throughout the month, each child will complete 12 miles with a running buddy, whether that's a parent, sibling, grandparent, neighbor, or friend.

The program wraps up on Sunday, September 6, at the Crystal Lake Half Marathon. Kids will run the final mile of the race, cross the official finish line, and receive a medal as a half marathon participant.

It's a fun way for kids to stay active and experience the excitement of accomplishing a goal they'll remember long after summer ends.

Registration is now open, and spots are available for grade school students throughout the area. If you're looking for one more memorable summer activity before the first day of school, Kids Run This Town is a great way to finish the season strong.
