Riverfest in St. Charles

Jenny McCarthy Performs at Arcada

Comedian Jenny McCarthy is no stranger to the area -- she got married in St. Charles, has rented a home in Geneva with her son and recently bought a house in St. Charles with husband, Donnie Wahlberg. And now she will be performing Friday and Saturday at the Arcada Theatre, 105 E. Main St., as part of her Dirty, Sexy, Funny tour. Tickets are available for a 10:30 p.m. Friday show and an 8 p.m. Saturday show.

Lombard Ale Fest

It seems like there is a craft beer festival every weekend in the suburbs and this weekend is no exception. The Lombard Ale Fest from 1 to 5 p.m. on Saturday will feature over 100 beers. The festival will take place in downtown Lombard at the Metra station. General admission tickets start at $40. More information is available online.

BoDeans at RiverEdge Park in Aurora

The BoDeans will perform on Saturday at RiverEdge Park, 360 N. Broadway in Aurora. Gates open at 7 p.m. and the show starts at 8 p.m. Tickets start at $40. More information is available online.

Vintage Auto Fest in Glen Ellyn

The Vintage Auto Fest in Glen Ellyn will be held from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the backyard property of Stacy’s Tavern Museum and the Glen Ellyn History Center, 800 N. Main Street. A wide selection of vintage vehicles will be displayed and there will be free talks on vintage automobiles and Glen Ellyn auto history. Get more information online.

Dog Derby in Palatine

At A Closer Bond Dog Training School, 842 W. Northwest Highway in Palatine, will host a Dog Derby from 1 to 4 p.m. on Saturday. There will be jumps, ramps, and obedience challenges throughout the course. The course is designed for all dogs, but challenging enough for those who enjoy higher levels of competition. Celebration of Summer Festival in Lake Villa

The Celebration of Summer Festival in Lake Village will be Friday and Saturday and will offer “Ravinia-style entertainment” on Saturday night. There will be a teen night on Saturday and fireworks at dusk on Saturday. The Lake Village Township Ribfest will be held from noon to 4 p.m. on Saturday. Get more information online.

Fermilab Outdoor Family Fair

Fermilab in Batavia will host its outdoor family fair from 1 to 4 p.m. on Sunday. Visitors can sweep for insects, visit a real bison herd, net for pond critters, compare yourself to a bison, go on a nature scavenger hunt and see how raptors see. Get more information online.
