Big R Department Store Looks to Open in Vacant Dominick's Location in LITH
The village is working with the developer on a financial incentive package.

LAKE IN THE HILLS, IL - Big R, a department store that sells apparel, lawn and gardening tools and hunting and fishing equipment, is hoping to open in a former Dominick’s at Randall and Algonquin roads in Lake in the Hills, according to the Northwest Herald.
BBK Properties LLC and Central Big R Stores Inc. are planning to purchase the location at 101 N. Randall Road for $4.3 million, according to village documents. The total project is anticipated to cost $7.9 million.
The village is working with the company on a sales tax sharing incentive agreement. Under the agreement, the developer and the village will equally share the sales tax revenue generated by the store up until the developer has received $500,000, according to village documents.

The addition of the big box retailer is anticipated to bring 45 full-time jobs to the area and generate a total of $160,000 per year in sales tax revenue.
Renovations for the location will include adding a 8,000-square-foot warehouse addition, replacing the HVAC system and completing repairs on the parking lot.
