Sheriff's Office Conducts Checks on Sex Offenders in County, Cary

The McHenry County Sheriff's Department conducted checks last week on all 72 sex offenders in the county, including three in Cary, and found all to be compliant.

The sheriff's department along with the United States Marshal Service conducts checks twice every year, making sure sex offenders were following statuary requirements such as providing correct home addresses and employer and vehicle information, according to a McHenry County Sheriff's Department press release.

There are currently 72 sex offenders registered in McHenry County and three registered in Cary, according to the state of Illinois sex offender information website.

There are 28 registered sex offenders in Crystal Lake, 18 in Algonquin, 12 in Lake in the Hills and eight in Huntley.
