Emergency Court Order Granted to Keep Polls Open Late in McHenry Co.
Polls will be open an extra 90 minutes after a technical glitch this morning meant some voters couldn't cast their ballot.

MCHENRY COUNTY, IL - Polls in McHenry County will be open until 8:30 p.m. tonight after an emergency court order was granted following technical glitches this morning that meant several voters could not cast their ballot, according to media reports.
McHenry County Clerk Mary McClellan told the Northwest Herald the electronic poll books were not working in less than a dozen precincts, which included locations in Algonquin, Chemung, Dunham, Grafton, McHenry and Nunda townships, when polls opened at 6 a.m., according to the newspaper. The polls books were working again by 10:30 a.m.

Polls will close at 7 p.m. for other counties throughout the state but the emergency court order for McHenry County will mean voters will get an extra 90 minutes to get out to their polling place.
