Woman Found Dead After Woodstock Apartment Fire
The Woodstock Fire/Rescue district says the fire on McHenry Avenue on Wednesday is not considered suspicious.

WOODSTOCK, IL — Local and state officials are investigating a fatal apartment fire in Woodstock.
The Woodstock Fire/Rescue District was called to an apartment complex in the 500 block of McHenry Avenue on Wednesday around 1:45 p.m., according to a news release. Police officers evacuated residents while the fire department worked to extinguish the fire.
Woodstock Police say a woman was found dead inside a first-floor unit. The fire department says the fire is not being considered suspicious, and that preliminary investigation indicates it began in the living room.

No residents of the apartment complex were displaced. The deceased person has not yet been identified.
The Illinois State Fire Marshal's office will assist Woodstock officials in an investigation.
