Deerfield Mayor Inaugurated As New President Of NWMC

The Northwest Municipal Council inaugurated its new officers at its annual gala last week.

DEERFIELD, IL — The Northwest Municipal Conference (NWMC) held its annual gala last week, inaugurating a new set of officers for the the 2017-18 fiscal year. The 59-year-old organization is comprised of elected officials representing more than 1.3 million citizens in 44 municipalities and a township, covering over 300 square miles in Cook, Lake, Kane and McHenry counties.

The outgoing president, Des Plaines Mayor Matthew Bogusz, handed off to Deerfield Mayor Harriet Rosenthal, while Mount Prospect Mayor Arlene Juracek was inaugurated as the NWMC vice-president.

Morton Grove Village President Dan DiMaria is the new secretary for the organization. Highland Park City Manager Ghida Neukirch is the group's incoming treasurer.

Rosenthal is the NWMC's 59th president and the first to come from Deerfield, according to the Daily Herald.
