Deerfield Park District - Summer Pool Staff Needed

Locations: Mitchell & Deerspring Pools

Lifeguards
Job Qualifications: Must be at least 15 years old (preferably 16). Looking for responsible candidates to fill open lifeguard positions at our two outdoor pools. Previous aquatic or lifeguarding experience is preferred. Applicants must complete StarGuard Lifeguard Certification & Exam upon hire.

Must be able to complete following pre-requisites to be considered for position: 50 yard swim, 50 yard head up swim, 1 minute of treading water, and retrieve weighted object from bottom of 12’ deep pool. These will be administered during the interview process.

Swim instructor
Job Qualifications: Must be at least 15 years old (preferably 16). Looking for energetic, responsible and dependable individuals who have swimming knowledge and enjoy working with children. Applicants must be able to motivate children of all ages and swimming levels and be able to help children become comfortable with the water and improve their swimming skills.

To be an instructor, you must attend instructor training and work the entire lessons session. Vacations are limited. Applicants must complete Starfish Swim School Certification & Exam upon hire.

Cashiers
Job Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old. Looking for honest individuals who are able to handle money responsibly and are comfortable working with numbers, computers, and telephones. Must be able to deal respectfully and effectively with the public and pool patrons.
