Dr. Aaron Rosenberg honored with the Freedom of Movement award

The Arthritis Foundation will honor two important contributors to the arthritis community with the Freedom of Movement Award at its annual Black Tie Gala on Saturday, September 19, 2015 at the Drake Hotel in Chicago.

The two honorees are:
Aaron G Rosenberg M.D., F.A.C.S., Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, and a senior partner with Midwest Orthopedics at Rush. The Freedom of Movement Award recognizes his career accomplishments and dedication to arthritis patients and their caregivers.
Emily Elizabeth Wegmann of Elmhurst, age 11, has systemic onset juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA). Since the age of two, Emily has lived with pain, had had numerous trips to the hospital and several surgeries involving her painful joints. She bravely underwent hip replacement surgery last October at Midwest Orthopedic at Rush and she has responded wonderfully.
About the Freedom of Movement Award
The Freedom of Movement Award Black Tie Gala is the Arthritis Foundation’s largest fundraising event. It acknowledges leaders who are helping to conquer arthritis through life-changing information and resources, advancement of research and awareness for the management, prevention and cure of arthritis, the most common cause of disability in the United States. The Black Tie Gala, now in its 26th year, is established as a special evening of recognition which attracts business, corporate and medical professionals.
About Dr. Rosenberg
Aaron G Rosenberg M.D., F.A.C.S., is a Professor in the Department of Orthopedic Surgery at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, and a senior partner with Midwest Orthopedics at Rush. He has served as the Director of the Adult Reconstructive Orthopedic Section and the Rush Fellowship in Adult Reconstructive Surgery for the past 15 years. Over his 30 years in practice he has garnered international recognition not only as an orthopedic surgeon, but also as an educator, researcher and the co-designer of multiple joint replacement systems for the hip and knee.
