Gathering in Deerfield Brings in Political Memorabilia
Trax Tavern & Grill the host for collectors' event.

A gathering of the Chicago Area Political Item Collectors (CAPIC) took place at Trax Tavern & Grill in Deerfield on Sunday, bringing in mountains of political nostalgia dating back more than 100 years in some cases.
The Deerfield Review covered the event and interviewed CAPIC President Randy Kopp, who shared some knowledge on the worth of certain items, from a campaign button promoting the 1900 presidential candidacy of William McKinley to one in 2008, promoting that of newcomer and now President Barack Obama.
The event also drew those interested in the history of Chicago, as throwbackers discussed the unique circumstances behind the death of former Mayor Anton Cermak and the recent mayoralties of the likes of Jane Byrne and Richard M. Daley.
