Rep. Brad Schneider Delivers 'Valentines For Veterans'

More than 2,000 cards for area veterans were created by local schools, libraries, and 10th District residents.

From the Office of Rep. Brad Schneider: This Valentine’s Day, Congressman Brad Schneider (IL-10) again collected and distributed hand-made cards to veterans in the community.

Local schools, libraries, and Tenth District constituents were invited to create and deliver the cards to Schneider’s Lincolnshire office, which collected more than 2,000 cards.

Schneider delivered some of the cards in-person at a breakfast hosted by the Lake County Honor Flight and at a bingo game at Lovell Federal Health Care Center in North Chicago. Other cards were distributed to veterans through Lake County Veterans Foundation at the Dry Hootch Center and American Legion Post 771.

“Our brave military men and women earn our admiration and gratitude every day, and Valentine’s Day gives us the chance to show our appreciation to veterans in a special way,” said Schneider. “The Tenth District community has really embraced this program as a way to give back to those who have given so much for our country.”

Constituent service representatives in Schneider’s office are available to help Tenth District residents with issues involving the federal government. In 2017, his team worked with area veterans to expedite medical appointments, process benefit claims with the VA, secure medals and honors that were earned but never received, and more. Schneider also hosted two recognition ceremonies for area veterans as part of the 50th Anniversary of the Vietnam War Commemoration.
