Trinity Evangelical Divinity School names Michael Oh Alumnus of the Year
Trinity Evangelical Divinity School honored Michael Young-Suk Oh, executive director of the Lausanne Movement, as its alumnus of the year.
Trinity Evangelical Divinity School has honored Michael Young-Suk Oh, executive director and chief executive officer of the Lausanne Movement, as its alumnus of the year.
The Lausanne Movement assists evangelical leaders who want to mobilize for world evangelization. Oh received his award on the Deerfield campus, where he also spoke in two chapel services Sept. 22-23 as part of Global Christian Week.
“We congratulate Michael Oh on this well-deserved award,” President David S. Dockery said. “His vision and passion for taking the gospel to the nations is infectious, and his profound leadership skills are a gift for the global church at this time.”

Dockery added that “we are thankful for the faithful way that Dr. Oh has represented Trinity through the years.”
Oh received a Master of Divinity degree from TEDS in 1997. He also earned a Master of Arts in regional studies (East Asia) from Harvard University, and a Doctor of Philosophy from the University of Pennsylvania.

He and his wife Pearl have served as missionaries in Nagoya, Japan. In addition to his work with Lausanne, Oh founded and now directs Christ Bible Institute in Nagoya. It encompasses a seminary, café, and a church-planting ministry.
Oh is a frequent speaker at evangelism conferences around the world and has written extensively for magazines in South Korea. He has contributed to three books, including the ESV Global Study Bible.
The Ohs have four daughters and a son.
The Alumnus of the Year award has been presented at TEDS since 1997.
