Divya Babbar Artwork at Des Plaines Public Library

The creative artwork of Divya Babbar can be seen at the Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood Street, during the month of February.

Throughout the month of February the creative artwork of artist Divya Babbar, a member of the Des Plaines Art Guild (dpag.org), can be seen in the 3rd floor gallery area of the Des Plaines Public Library, 1501 Ellinwood Street.

Divya was introduced to the realm of art through her high school courses and has continued to perfect her skills by using her imagination. Her artwork highlights concepts related to self-exploration and spirituality. She challenges her own imagination by applying abstract shapes and patterns into a particular piece. Vivid colors and intricate designs are reflected and remnants of Asian culture and Indian mehndi designs, along with her fascination with our vast universe have influenced her work.

Divya finds that the mediums of acrylic and oil give her the most versatility in her art. Ink is used for subtle intricate details in order to emphasize relevant subject matter. As she thrives on experimentation, Divya has recently started bringing mixed media into her paintings to further enhance texture and depth perception.
