Oakton’s Society of Women Engineers Collegiate Interest Group, Center for Promoting STEM, and Women’s and Gender Studies present a free screening of the documentary “CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap” at 4 p.m., March 29, in Room 1625, at Oakton’s Des Plaines campus, 1600 E. The documentary, directed by award winner Robin Hauser Reynolds, premiered at Tribeca Film Festival 2015 and focuses on the lack of female and minority software engineers. “CODE: Debugging the Gender Gap” also explores what society would gain from having more women and minorities in the coding industry.
Following the screening, Oakton’s Coordinator for Promoting STEM Gloria Liu will facilitate a discussion about the topics posed during the screening.
