Oakton hosts a visit from famed author Joe Meno Feb. 17
Chicago author Joe Meno comes to Oakton to read from his latest novel on Wednesday, Feb. 17.

Hear award winning Chicago writer Joe Meno read from his latest novel “Marvel and a Wonder” at 6 p.m., Wednesday, Feb. 17, at Oakton’s Footlik Theater, 1600 E. Golf Road. The free event is part of the college’s Chicago Writers Series.
His new novel details themes of family, redemption, sacrifice and faith. “The Library Journal” gives the manuscript high praise saying, “Talented Meno has penned a wise and touching novel of love, loyalty, courage; an extraordinary book not to be missed.”
Meno is a winner of the Nelson Algren Literary Award, a Pushcart Prize and the Great Lakes Book Award. Two of his novels have been named “Chicago Tribune” Book of the Year. His other novels and short story collections include “Office Girl,” “The Great Perhaps,” “The Boy Detective Fails” and “Hairstyles of the Damned.” Meno’s plays have been produced in Chicago, Los Angeles, Washington D.C. and Charville, France.
