1. 3 Charged After Fight At Des Plaines Mosque; Guns Found In BMW: Police (patch.com) — Des Plaines residents are learning more about a late-night fight outside a local mosque on Potter Road that led to three arrests and the recovery of multiple firearms from a BMW. The same Des Plaines police blotter details a suspected crack cocaine arrest on Rand Road, a DUI stop, and several neighborhood incidents including a vehicle trespass, hit-and-run damage, and a costly Facebook Marketplace scam. 
2. 3 Dogs, Cat Killed In Des Plaines House Fire (patch.com) — An early-morning house fire on East Walnut Avenue in Des Plaines killed three dogs and a cat, but the resident escaped and declined hospital treatment. Firefighters from Des Plaines and neighboring departments quickly brought the blaze under control, and local investigators are now working to determine what caused the estimated $75,000 in damage.
3. $647K Nike cargo recovered near Chicago after fraudulent Memphis pickup (freightwaves.com) — Investigators recovered more than $647,000 in stolen Nike merchandise at a distribution facility on South Mount Prospect Road in Des Plaines after a fraudulent pickup that began in Memphis. Cook County Sheriff's detectives worked with corporate and transportation partners to track the cargo to the city, where they also found a stolen trailer. No suspects have been publicly identified yet as the investigation continues.
4. Grant request being considered to help pay for new bridge on Des Plaines River Trail over Lake-Cook Road (dailyherald.com) — Forest preserve officials in Lake and Cook counties are seeking a state grant to help fund a $7.33 million replacement of the Des Plaines River Trail bridge over Lake-Cook Road. If approved, the project would improve safety and reliability on this heavily used regional trail that runs along the Des Plaines River corridor into Cook County.
