$25K Grant From Home Depot To Help Revitailze McCullom Park

DOWNERS GROVE, IL– The Downers Grove Park District plans to host a volunteer day at McCullom Park, thanks to a $25,000 grant donation from The Home Depot Foundation. Slated for April 26 Volunteer Day will help spruce up the park ahead of its upcoming addition of a splash pad.

The Home Depot will send 100 volunteers to the event to help facilitate the work, which will include mulching, planting new flora and maintaining and landscaping the grounds of McCullom Park.

In a news release, park district officials expressed their appreciation for the grant, writing, "The collaboration reflects the shared commitment of both The Home Depot Foundation and the Downers Grove Park District to enhance the quality of life for local residents and contribute to the overall health and wellbeing of the community."

Work began on McCullom Park in Aug. 2022. The ongoing project will add pickleball courts, restroom showers, additional seating and other amenities.

The new sprayground at McCullom Park is set to open by summer.
