• Ranalli's Plans To Open 1st Suburban This Fall (patch.com) — Downers Grove residents can look forward to Ranalli’s opening its first suburban location this fall at 5200 Main Street, in the former Emmett’s Brewing Company space. The longtime Chicago pizzeria will bring its tavern-style thin crust and pan pizzas, including creative specialty, vegetarian, and gluten-free options, expanding the Four Corners Group’s footprint beyond the city.    

• Timothy Christian's Hudson Tseng rolls into state tennis quarterfinals: Thursday Suburban Life sports roundup (shawlocal.com) — Downers Grove South’s baseball team nearly erased a six-run deficit but fell 7-5 to Benet in a Class 4A regional semifinal, ending a strong 23-win season.
