Car Show is Back and Smokin' Hot!

Cars have always been a fascination and passion to many people. From the old Ford Model T’s to Willey’s, from Chargers to Vets, or 57 Chevy’s to Mustangs with hemi’s, there has always been an automobile that appeals to the enthusiast.  And now you can enjoy it with friends and family listening to fabulous music from the past at the Rotary GroveFest Car Show on June 26th. You will definitely enjoy it and see the best of the best!

Many have visited the nostalgic car shows on Friday nights strolling through the streets of downtown Downers Grove with family and friends. With custom cars and trucks trimmed out to appeal to the masses, everyone enjoys the sights. Fond memories resurface for those who drove them during their childhood and astonishment to others who just can’t believe those custom things could be done to cars. And now it is all for your viewing pleasure at the Rotary GroveFest Car Show. For those of you who visited Heritage Festival in past years you will be happy to know that this long running show is a carryover from those great times. Many of the entrants are back along with the addition on others.

This year one of the new entrants will be VooDoo Larry, owner of VooDoo Larry Kustoms, the premier hot rod shop in the Midwest and his two Pin up Girls. The pinup scene in the Chicago area is very up and coming. Nostalgic tastefully done Pinup girls grace many pages of hot rod magazines, calendars and websites. Joining Larry will be Collette Pitzer (Nikki Brooks) and Susan Grobe (Varla Skye) who has done numerous photo shoots with prestigious photographers such as Mitzi & Company (CA), Roy Varga (CA) and Harlow House (IL). Recently, Collette and Susan shot with Mitzi and Roy at the Ink N Iron Festival in Long Beach, CA. and Harlow shot a series called Wonderland, in which Collette portrayed Alice and Susan, the Red Queen. With Susan and Collette lining up several shoots over the next few months and a feature in several national magazines (hush, hush for now!), you will be sure to have an interesting day. Susan with her Rockabilly style is retro- identified by her vintage style clothing and retro hair and makeup while Collette is fresh to the pinup scene with her Psychobilly style and her edgy clothes and funky hair and makeup.
