Good Samaritan Hospital associates help colleagues through holiday gift-giving program
DOWNERS GROVE, Ill – For 19 years, Advocate Good Samaritan Hospital associates have helped other associates struggling to provide gifts for their families during the holiday season. Associates in need can apply for assistance; they are then “adopted” by other associates or departmental teams throughout the hospital.
“The Adopt-a-Family program was developed through our Mission and Spiritual Care Department with the recognition that our associates, like our patients and families, deserve compassionate care in response to their needs, especially around the holidays,” said the Rev. James Christian, vice president of Mission and Spiritual Care at Good Samaritan Hospital.
This year, the program will assist 41 families, including 171 associates, spouses and children. Names of associates benefitting from the Adopt-a-Family program remain confidential to protect their privacy.
