Barkapalooza 2017: Lineup Includes Donation Walk, Face Painting, Pet Pedicures
Bring Fido to Barkapalooza 2017 at Lisle Community Park on Sept. 24 to help benefit homeless pets at West Suburban Humane Society.
DOWNERS GROVE, IL ā If you think festival season is winding down, think again. Local dogs are gearing up for Barkapalooza 2017, which will descend on Lisle Community Park Sunday and is expected to be one of the most raging festivals of the season, according to multiple canine sources.
Sponsored by the West Suburban Humane Society, Barkapalooza will help raise funds for homeless animals at the shelter. The festival will be packed with entertainment to keep the pooches partying all day. The events slated for the day include:
- Blessing of the animals
- Competitive donation pledge walk
- Police dog demonstration
- Agility demonstration
- Dog agility courses
Kids can get their faces painted and take part in a scavenger hunt to find stuffed pooches stashed throughout the park. Pup parents can buy raffle tickets for a chance to win $1,000. The four-legged fun doesn't stop there.

- Discounted microchipping
- Grooming and pedicures
- Pet photo booth
- Pet caricatures
- Animal communicator who can see what your pet has been wanting to tell you
Guests and pets can refuel with eats and treats from Copper Oven Pizza, The Vegan Food Truck, Raw Bistro Pet Fare, and more.
