Carlucci Restaurant To Close For Good After 15 Years

The beloved restaurant will permanently close on February 18.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — After 15 years serving up authentic Italian food in Downers Grove, Carlucci Restaurant announced Monday that it would be closing its doors for good. The restaurant's last day will be Sunday, February 18.

The space Carlucci occupied at 1801 Butterfield has been sold to a new tenant, the owners said in a press release. Another restaurant referred to as a "respected and recognized brand," will replace Carlucci.

"I welcome the new property owner with open arms – I believe that they will have great success at our location," wwner and founder Jim Carlucci said in the press release. He added, "I regret closing the doors on such short notice, but the offer was something that I needed to move very quickly on.”

Ahead of its last day, Carlucci will feature a special menu of some dishes that have been beloved by customers over the last 15 years, including linguini bombanato made with prosciutto, basil, and parmesan, and grilled chicken radiatori in a garlic cream sauce.

Diners also can stop in any time before the restaurant closes to toast the restaurant with a $5 glass of house wine.

The name of the restaurant replacing Carlucci has not yet been made public.
