Christ Church Downers Grove is now Christ Church Butterfield

Lombard, Illinois – To better reflect the church’s new location, as well as the additional services and opportunities it’s now able to provide the wider Butterfield corridor area, Christ Church Downers Grove is now Christ Church Butterfield.

Christ Church Oak Brook opened the Downers Grove branch in 2018 and since then it has grown from 100 founding members to more than 200 weekly worshippers.

Previously located one mile south at 3500 Lacey Rd. in Downers Grove in a temporary corporate space, this branch of Christ Church has now opened its doors in a large, permanent location. Services began October 6 and are held on Sundays at 10:45 a.m. at 2S361 Glen Park Rd. in Lombard, which is just off the I-355 Butterfield exit.

“We believe in building community,” said Rev. Eric Camfield, Campus Pastor. “We believe in the strength and support found in community and we know it is vital for the local church to be a beacon of love, hope and prayer. People thrive in environments where they can meet others, get involved and know they have the support of people who want to really know them.”

The new location helps better serve the surrounding communities with more opportunities.

The new site provides a:

• Versatile worship space that seats up to 600 people on weekends and offers weekday usage for large groups, student ministry, events and congregational gatherings.

• Dedicated Children’s and Student Ministry areas for Family Ministry outreach; expanded opportunities for Vacation Bible School and Student Ministry events.

• Classroom and meeting room spaces for church group meetings and for outside groups in the community to use breakout rooms for a variety of conference formats.
• Gymnasium that serves Children and Student Ministries as well as provides outreach space for local use by outside groups.
