Cops Seek Suspect Of Armed Robbery In Downers Grove

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Police in Downers Grove are asking for the public's help in identifying a man who robbed a cellphone store in mid-April. Recently provided surveillance footage that shows a man who is suspected of pulling a gun out at Android Wireless and Repair at 6315 Woodward Ave. and making off with nearly a dozen iPhones.

Police say the suspect came into the store on April 12 under the guise of trying to sell some iPhones. He then displayed a weapon, showed the store owner a red bag, and said, "Put all the iPhones in here."

The owner reportedly handed over 11 iPhones, estimated to be worth a total of over $4800.

The suspect was last seen heading south on Springside Avenue in a GMC Envoy with temporary plates.

Police are asking anyone with information or who believes they have seen the suspect to contact the department's investigative division at 630-434-5661.
