DGS Swim and Dive Defeats Hinsdale South

The Downers Grove South Swim and Dive team extended their dual meet winning streak with a dominating win over Hinsdale South by a score of 129 to 56. The Varsity 200 Yard Medley Relay team of Alyssa Reinholz, Makaila Scheiblein, Melanie Scheiblein, and Jorie Selig and the Frosh/Soph team of Jennifer Paskvan, Kayla Martinez, Tavish Kerr, and Samantha Vallo got the team off to a great start with impressive victories. Beth Vetter had a dominating swim in the Varsity 200 Yard Freestyle, while Frosh/Soph swimmers Samantha Vallo, Tavish Kerr, and Gianna Lukacik swam their way to the top three positions in the event as well. Jennifer Paskvan secured the win in the Frosh/Soph 200 Yard Individual Medley, while Alyssa Reinholz, Paige Vondrasek, and Anna Bogdanski took the top three places in the Varsity 50 Yard Freestyle.

Next up, Melaine Scheiblein, Annie Leinart, and Jillian Scott took swept the top three places in the Varsity 100 Yard Butterfly, while Katie Leinart, Sophia Duax, and Mackenzie Johnson did the same for the Frosh/Soph team. Anna Bogdanski, Jorie Selig, and Paige Vondrasek swam their way to first, second, and third places finishes in the Varsity 100 Yard Freestyle, while Kayla Martinez won the event for the Frosh/Soph team. Continuing their dominance, Beth Vetter, Emma Sayre and Kaitlyn Hopp swept the top three positions in the Varsity 500 Yard Freestyle, while Sophia Duax, Kate Stanley, and Tavish Kerr did the same on the Frosh/Soph level.

In the 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, the Mustang Varsity Relay of Melanie Scheiblein, Jorie Selig, Makaila Scheiblein, and Alyssa Reinholz swam their way to victory. The relay team of Anna Bogdanski, Annie Leinart, Paige Vondrasek, and Emma Sayre along with the team of Gabbie Muzykansky, Savannah Duaz, Kaitlyn Hopp, and Jillian Scott finished second and third. The Frosh/Soph 200 Yard Freestyle Relay teams also secured the top two positions. The team of Mackenzie Johnson, Sophia Duax, Katie Leinart, and Samantha Vallo finished first, while the team of Skyler Groveau, Gianna Lukacik, Kate Stanley, and Jennifer Paskvan finished second. Then, Alyssa Reinholz dominated the 100 Yard Backstroke with an impressive win. To wrap up a night of great swimming, the 400 Yard Freestyle Relay team of Anna Bogdanski, Emma Sayre, Annie Leinart and Jorie Selig finished first while the team of Beth Vetter, Kaitlyn Hopp, Jillian Scott and Allie Puccillo finished second. The Frosh/Soph 400 Yard Freestyle team of Katie Leinart, Mackenzie Johnson, Sophia Duax, and Kate Stanley won the event, while the team of Tavish Kerr, Gianna Lukacik, Kayla Martinez and Skyler Groveau finished second.

The Lady Mustangs are looking to continue the impressive start to their season with a dual meet against Leyden on September 29.
