Downers Grove North Students Named National Merit Scholars
Miles Christensen, John Cagney, and Christopher Bull were named National Merit Scholars.

DOWNERS GROVE, IL — Three students at Downers Grove North have earned the prestigious title of National Merit Scholars. Christopher Bull, John Cagney, and Miles Christensen scored among the top 5% of U.S. students on the preliminary SAT to qualify.
Downers Grove North High School Principal Jean Schwarze said the school is proud o fthe boys for their achievement. "This recognition is a validation of not only their natural abilities but also their commitment to learning," she said.
Close to 1.5 million students took the exam throughout the country this year, but just 15,000 were chosen as finalists, according to District 99. Established in 1955, the National Merit Scholarship Corporation has honored more than 220,000 students in the past 60 years.
